A lot has changed in the 20+ years since Bill Gates coined the phrase "content is king." A lot.

Content marketing is HUGE and isn't going away anytime soon. With online content demands growing at an ever increasing rate, the biggest challenge for brands now is keeping up.

In this digital era it's no longer just about your product or your service, it's the content you create about it (and around it) that gets you found and noticed and creating content that truly engages your audience is challenging. If you want people to engage with you, you've got to push something directly in front of them, and do it often.

You need something funny, entertaining, or informational - to grab their attention. Continual engagement is what places and keeps your brand on consumers minds. Engagement is the key to growth. Content is king for 2 main reasons: attention and answers. When consumers are checking email and browsing through social media, they're looking for something to engage with.

Google processes over 167+ billion searches every month. There's plenty of opportunity waiting with open arms (and helpful content) to draw these people in.

What could answer all your target customers' questions? What could resolve all of their problems?

Content must come from the entire organization and predominantly from the public-facing functions like customer service, sales, marketing, and product development, as well as the executive suite.
